Our Journey Through Time

2019

The Beginning

Started in a small Manchester office with just three passionate individuals who believed financial literacy shouldn't be a luxury. We noticed too many people struggling with basic financial concepts that weren't being taught anywhere.

First Achievement: Launched our initial financial planning toolkit with 50 beta users

Building Momentum

By this point, word-of-mouth had brought us over 2,000 active users. We expanded our team to twelve people and moved to our current Manchester location. The pandemic actually helped us reach more people who suddenly needed financial guidance.

Current Focus: Developing advanced budgeting AI and expanding into European markets

How We Actually Started

Three friends met at a Manchester coffee shop in late 2018, complaining about how confusing their bank statements were. None of us were financial experts – Kieran was a graphic designer, Marcus taught primary school, and I was doing freelance writing.

What frustrated us most was that financial advice either came from pushy salespeople or academic textbooks that might as well have been written in ancient Greek. We wanted something practical that real people could understand.

"We spent six months just talking to people in Manchester markets, asking what confused them about money. The answers were surprisingly consistent – nobody understood where their money actually went each month."

So we built our first tool: a simple expense tracker that categorized spending in plain English. No jargon, no complicated graphs, just clear information about where your money goes.

Financial education shouldn't stop at basic budgeting. By 2026, we want to offer comprehensive learning paths that help people understand everything from mortgage calculations to investment fundamentals.

We're not trying to replace financial advisors – we want to help people have better conversations with them. When you understand the basics, you can ask better questions and make more informed decisions.

Educational Expansion

Launch comprehensive financial literacy courses starting September 2025, covering everything from basic budgeting to advanced investment concepts.

Technology Innovation

Develop AI-powered budgeting assistance that learns your spending patterns and offers personalized suggestions for improvement.

Community Building

Create local financial literacy workshops across major UK cities, starting with Birmingham and Leeds in late 2025.

Platform Enhancement

Integrate with more UK banks and financial institutions to provide seamless account connectivity and real-time insights.

Stellan Whitworth

Founder & CEO

After spending years helping friends and family understand their finances, Stellan realized that most people just needed someone to explain money matters in normal language. He started novidralquos to bridge that gap between complex financial concepts and everyday understanding. When not working on product development, you'll find him volunteering at Manchester community centers teaching basic financial literacy.
